For public rules, if your tee shot goes OB, what are your options? And how many strokes are you penalized?
If your ball goes out of bounds from tee box it costs you stroke plus distance. You would have to hit another ball from tee box. You would be hitting three from tee box. If you think you went out of bounds on second shot you would hit provisional ball in case you went out. If you find out you were out of bounds you would be laying four. You would be out in 2, back in3 and hit four. You always hit a provisional ball in case you went out, if you do not go out , you use your original shot and you are not charged the penalty. Out of bounds is stroke and distance that is why it is 2 shot penalty.
