Can you do physical activities if you have an implantable cardioverter defibrillator?

I was just wondering because my friend went into cardiac arrest and got an ICD put it and she really wanted to be a rescue swimmer. Is that even possible if you have an ICD? She was a lifeguard. Can she still do that?
