Is it okay to let frozen milk thaw via room temperature?

If so, what is the longest it can set out. Say for instance I expressed some milk and allowed it to freeze solid. Then, I put it out at night so the milk will be defrosted when the baby is ready to eat during the night? Is this okay? What's the longest it can set out without harming the baby?
