Dr gave 2 choices, which one do you think is best?

Today I went to the doctor for an ultrasound to explain why I am having heavy bleeding, severe cramping, and long periods. The ultrasound showed nothing, other than a tilted uterus, but the doctor now seems to think I have endometriosis. Obviously it's rather common, and my doctor gave me 4 choices. Hysterectomy (not happening), D&C (he doesn't recommend because I don't have a thick lining in my uterus), Mirena to attempt to alleviate the symptoms, or a laparoscopy to actually confirm endometriosis and if I do have it, remove it. Obviously my choices are between the Mirena and the laparoscopy. Anyone with endometriosis, or who knows about it, who can tell me which route you reccommend would be appreciated.
