Do the extremists really hate us for our freedoms?

Spoiled people don't have the need to dig into details or actualities of any matter. Patriots don't give a cr@p about rights or wrongs. And small people can only react on what they have been fed by the media. And why would anyone in the right mind give a cr@p about something that happens on the other continent, unless it directly effects them.
